About
Using a pair of NrealLight, PORTAL with Nreal offers the first ever immersive experience of fashion and shopping. This app embodies the potential of AR to create a touchpoint between brands and consumers. Once the PORTAL app is started, a room is turned into a virtual shopping space.
People are able to see a collection of 3D fashion models, find items, and purchase them seamlessly in a shopping flow. PORTAL delivers a rich and inspirational brand experience and immerses consumers in a brand story. PORTAL with Nreal was exhibited at CES 2020 in collaboration with Nreal and has won the Auggie Awards for best campaign in 2020.
Background
PORTAL with Nreal turns your living room into a virtual boutique where you can preview a collection of items with 3D fashion models and experience seamless shopping empowered by ar technology. In addition to the shopping experience, PORTAL proposes the idea of “Room Filter,” a decoration of space with virtual brand items.
Execution
PORTAL with Nreal was designed and developed to embody its underlying concept of “a more convenient and engaging shopping experience at home.” Due to the rise and increasing share of online shopping, the role of stores has changed and shifted from a place where people purchase to an immersive space where people enjoy a brand.
Similarly, online shopping needs a more experience-driven approach. The experience of PORTAL with Nreal was framed with the concept of “store-nization of your room” to provide a more immersive online shopping experience. We believe in the near future people will wear a pair of AR glasses and enjoy immersive shopping and decorating their rooms with virtual brand items.
Results
In collaboration with Nreal, PORTAL with Nreal was exhibited at CES 2020 to demonstrate the future of AR-powered shopping experience. PORTAL with Nreal has won the Auggie Awards for best campaign in 2020 out of more than 200 applicants. This is the very first time among Japanese software companies.
