RESHAPE YOUR VIEW

RESHAPE YOUR View is a city-view AR experience that lets people explore tourist spots and make their own sightseeing routes. At Yokohama Landmark Tower Sky Garden, an observatory floor of Yokohama Landmark Tower, tourists are invited to use Magic Leap 1 to find 12 spots in the cityscape of Yokohama and know attractive aspects of each spot by pulling them inside the observatory.

In the experience, they select spots that they want to visit. At the end of the experience, the selected spots are connected by an AR navigation line as their own sightseeing route. RESHAPE YOUR VIEW offers an enhanced experience of exploring a cityscape from an observatory. 

The RESHAPE YOUR VIEW experience is part of NTT DOCOMO's experimental project of developing AR cloud application. Using the AR cloud technology developed by NTT DOCOMO, we conducted technical verification of the capability of AR cloud and verification of business potential of AR application.

The experience was delivered to the public to show the cutting-edge AR technology and get feedback from those who experienced it. Through the exhibition at Sky Garden, the experience showcased the technical application of AR cloud technology and the business potential of AR experience in the field of sightseeing. 

The concept of RESHAPE YOUR VIEW is "The cityscape from an observatory becomes your map." Spatial computing device Magic Leap 1 enhances the view from an observatory by visualizing the hidden sightseeing spots in the cityscape and revealing their attractive aspects, which generates more value than the ordinary observatory experience.

With RESHAPE YOUR VIEW, tourists explore the cityscape of Yokohama and find spots they want to visit. At the end of the experience, the selected spots are connected by an AR navigation line as their own sightseeing route. Tourists view the cityscape that is reshaped as a virtual map overlaid on the city. 

RESHAPE YOUR VIEW was exhibited at Yokohama Landmark Tower Sky Garden from April 9th to 18th, 2021. Over 250 tourists at the observatory visited and experienced RESHAPE YOUR VIEW as a new way of exploring the cityscape of Yokohama with AR technology.

RESHAPE YOUR VIEW delivers experience and value that ordinary guidebooks cannnot do. Magic Leap 1 and AR Cloud technology visualize the hidden aspects of tourist spots and reshape the view from the observatory.
